The EU Visa Waiver Scheme

The EU plans to introduce a  €7 or £6 EU visa waiver for some EU Citizens including UK citizens by summer 2025.

The new rules state that visitors from specific non-EU countries including the UK will have to apply for a waiver before travelling to 30 countries in Europe.

The waiver covers travel the Schengen area, to include every EU state except for Ireland and Cyprus, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

The fee will apply to everyone between 18 and 70. It is free for children and over 70s.

It will start in the first half of 2025.

Don’t get stung by airport parking fees

If you are planning to park at any UK airport, leaving your car for the duration of your holiday or business trip, make sure you check parking fees before planning your travel. It is often more cost effective to book an airport transfer. Always compare airport parking costs with transfer services to ensure you're getting the best deal for your travel needs.

Check Citizen's Advice Bureau if your flight is delayed

If your flight is delayed you may be able to claim compensation according to Citizen's Advice Bureau (CAB) if your flight was leaving from the the UK and/EU or arriving in the UK/EU with a UK airline.

CAB state that you may be entitled to refreshments, accommodation and access to phone call and emails and if your flight is delayed for three or more hours you may be entitled to financial compensation.

Stansted Airport Security Staff Shortage

Stansted Airport is experiencing a shortage of staff at security checks. Passengers are advised to arrive early to allow sufficient time to get through security before boarding their flights.
